Last night was all about cowboys, lassos, steaks and rodeos. Seeing as we saved money on our campsite, we decided to treat ourselves to a real meal.
We went down to the Great Western Hotel where we ate 250g steaks with potatoes, salad and a 4X Gold beer (a cheap, popular Australian drink). That was not all as we are in front of a live rodeo! Dinner and a show for 20 dollars, not bad..!
Mathieu was in awe as he saw cowboys the age of 8 to 25 being thrown up in the air by bulls. I, on the other hand, felt right at home. It reminded me of the Houston Rodeo but on a much smaller scale.
After the show we went back to the park where we slept last night for a midnight snack and a good nights rest.
Today the plan is the visit Mt. Archer, a mountain just outside of Rockhampton, offering breathtaking views. We should have plenty of coverage here for the video we are making. We will most likely have a picnic and then go on a hike on one of the trails before heading over to Byfield National Park for the night.
More news to come…!
